What car has the most horsepower?

The most powerful production car in the world is the SSC TUATARA making 1750 horsepower from its 5.9 liter twin-turbo V8.

There are also many powerful cars from other manufacturers, so here they are:  

1. Dodge Challenger SRT Demon: 840 HP

Dodge demon

Dodge has always been an eccentric company. The Dodge Hellcat is already a very powerful car at over 700+ HP, Dodge decided that it needed more and came up with the Demon which made 840 HP and came with its own crate with tools and skinny front tires ready for the dragstrip. Dodge only had one goal for this car and it was to go fast in a straight line.

2. Porsche 918 Spyder: 887HP

After the success of its Carrera GT, Porsche didn’t make another supercar until 2013. The Porsche 918 spider came with a 4.6 L naturally aspirated engine making 599HP and two electric motors making 282HP for a combined output of 887hp.

3. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: 755HP

The Chevrolet Corvette has always been America’s most powerful sports car for the least amount possible and the ZR1 has always been the most powerful version of the corvette. The latest version of the Corvette has the latest 6.2-liter supercharge LT5 engine which produces 755HP and comes in either an auto or manual transmission.

4. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: 760HP

The Ford Mustang is the most iconic American sports car brand and the GT500 has been its most iconic model. The GT500 is the most powerful version of the mustang and currently produces 760 HP from the supercharged V8 engine. New for this version is a dual-clutch transmission to be able to put down all of its power.

5. Koenigsegg Regera: 1500HP

The Koenigsegg Gemera Makes around 1700 HP but is currently not in production yet, which leaves Regera as the most powerful production Koenigsegg. The Koenigsegg has a TwinTurbo V8 engine combined with three electric motors. Its cutting-edge battery technology all work together to make 1500 hp. Koenigsegg makes high horsepower supercars, but the Regera is its first high horsepower luxury supercar which happens to have a lot of power.

6. McLaren Speedtail: 1036HP

McLaren has been disrupting the supercar industry since is its inception with its F1 supercar back in the 90s. They started producing cars in 2012 and have continued that disrupting trend. For 2020, Mclaren has introduced its most powerful supercar. The speed tail has been a modified version of the 720 S engine making 746HP and electric motors attached to it and produces a combined output of 1036HP.

The speedtail also features a 3 seater configuration with the driver in the middle and this has only ever been done on their Mclaren F1 supercar.

7. Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing: 668HP

America proves that their Love for the V8 once more with 6.2 L supercharged LT4 V8 going in the luxurious Cadillac. New for 2022 the Cadillac CT5 black wing makes 668 HP from its new engine and can also be had in a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.

8. Ferrari SF90 Stradale: 986HP

Depending on your interaction with Ferrari you either love or hate the company, but either way, they make some of the most exciting super sports cars today from singing V8’s to thunderous V12 engines. The SF90 is equipped with a TwinTurbo charged V8 and 3 electric motors producing an astonishing 986HP. If you don’t have the money to buy an SF90, you can get the same engine in a 488 Pista or F8 tributo for less money without the electric motors attached which will make less power, but it’s a Ferrari.

9. Honda Acura NSX: 573 HP

The first time Honda made a supercar, It beat out its competition in almost every performance metric including reliability which was what they were known for. In 2016 Honda decided to revive the NSX name. The new car came with hybrid electric power training the engine was a 3.5-liter TwinTurbo V6 engine with three electric motors making 600 HP and an all-wheel-drive system. This car was the first mass Sports car to go the hybrid route and shows that Honda could be able to make exciting supercars when they want to.

10. Audi RS e Tron GT: 637HP

If you were asked the most powerful Audi sports car you would think it be the R8 with its V10 but you’d be wrong, it’s electric. The new RS e Tron GT is the most powerful Audi ever making 637HP from its all-electric power train and still manages to sit 4 people.

11. BMW M5 CS: 627HP

From one German technological machine to one of the most capable sedans ever made. The CS is a lighter, more powerful version of the already crazy M5. It has 627HP from its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 making it the most powerful BMW ever made.

12. Aston Martin DBS Superleggera: 715HP

James Bond always seems to be driving in an Aston Martin. While you’re no James Bond the new DBS Superleggera could make you feel like one. Aston Martins have always been beautiful to look at and elegant from all directions and the same can be said for this new car. It also has a powerful twin-turbo V12 sitting in its engine bay making 715HP.

13. Lamborghini Sian: 820HP

The V12 has always been in Lamborghini’s DNA and its flagship cars use it and the Sian is no exception. The V12 is the most powerful yet making 785HP with a supercapacitor instead of an electric motor and together they make 820HP. This makes this car Lamborghini’s first hybrid supercar.

14. Mercedes AMG GT63S: 630HP

AMG is known to turn up the volume on Mercedes cars but the GT63S is a little bit different. Just like the SLS AND AMG GT, The GT63S was built from the ground up by Mercedes to be its ultimate luxury cruiser with sports car handling and lots of power. The engine is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 we know in all-new AMG cars but this time produces 630HP.

15. Jaguar Project 8: 600HP

The Jaguar Project 8 is a return to form for Jaguar paying homage to the old racing Jaguar but in sedan form. The 5.0 liter V8 is the same power plant in the F type but this time in the most powerful form producing 600HP and a thunderous soundtrack to complement its wild looks.

16. Pagani Huayra Tricolore 840HP

Pagani has always had a focus on producing rolling art and the huayra Tricolore is its latest iteration of the beautiful huayra first introduced in 2014. The Tricolore receives the special Pagani treatment with the Italian flags made prominent on the car and other bespoke touches. The engine also gets an upgrade of 840 horsepower from its unique-sounding twin-turbo V12.

17. 2018 Bentley Continental Supersport: 700HP

Bentley seems to be the only manufacturer still making use of the W layout to make its V12 engine. The new models are out but the most powerful version remains the supersport from 2018 which makes 700HP from its twin-turbo V12 until the new supersport replaces it.

18. Rolls Royce Wraith: 624HP

Rolls Royce is arguably the most prestigious and luxurious car maker ever. Every car from the new generation makes use of the 6.75 twin-turbo V12 which is smooth, silent, and equally powerful. The most powerful version of this engine is in the Rolls Royce wraith making 624 horsepower.

19. Lexus LFA: 553HP

The LFA was an engineering exercise for Lexus even though they were late to the game the car still holds the title of the most powerful Lexus ever made. Power comes from a naturally aspirated V10 which makes some of the most beautiful sounds ever and makes 553 horsepower which was good power for its day and more than capable for today.

20. Bugatti Centodieci: 1600 HP

Bugatti has always been at the top of the food chain with its high horsepower super expensive and exclusive cars. Currently, the only company using a 16 cylinder engine today. The W16 makes 1500HP in its Chiron models but has received a power bump up to 1600HP for the Centodieci making it the most powerful Bugatti ever made.

21. Tesla Model S Plaid: 1020HP

Tesla Model S Plaid Boasts 390-Mile Range and 1020 Horsepower. The current Model S is already a very fast supercar beating sedan, But Tesla says it will be faster. 0-60 is estimated to be just under 2 seconds with a Top speed of 200mph. For 2021, The Model S has received major updates to its interior. Deliveries are set to begin later this year.
